Chocolate Chess Pie

Every chocolate pie needs a legacy, and this one's inspired by the most notorious dessert in Southern fiction — the one from The Help that we will absolutely not be recreating in full. No secret ingredients here, just chocolate, butter, and eggs, made with love instead of revenge. Minny would still probably tell you it needs more sugar.

Ingredients:

1 whole unbaked pie shell

1/2 cup butter

2 ounces Baker's semi-sweet chocolate baking bars

1 cup sugar

2 whole eggs, beaten

1 teaspoon vanilla

Dash of salt

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Melt butter and chocolate and let cool slightly. Mix with other ingredients and pour into pie crust. Bake for 35 minutes.

Serve with spiced whipped cream.
